I woke up this morning and peeked out the bedroom window and was greeted by a brisk, sunny landscape.  Granted, the landscape included a view of the trailer park behind my apartment complex but still, it was gorgeous.  The ride into work was chilly but enjoyable and it got me to reminiscing about my days back in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Mornings on the high desert are just like this, chilly and sunny with clear skies as far as you can see.

Morning Mass

Another random item is this.  Portland keeps getting all this recognition as being a bike friendly city yet I find it to be one of the more hostile places to ride a bike.  Albuquerque was downright hospitable and safe.

Broadway

Dig it.  I’m losing focus now but just remember, do not discount Albuquerque when it comes to bike friendly places in the United States.  And for the record, I love Oregon.

I’m going to be busting my ass to make sure that 2010 is the year that I finally make the plunge and open my own art/photography studio.  I’ve been following up on every lead for good, affordable studio space as well as making a checklist of must have items to furnish my studio with.

One of the key items will be a coffee machine.  And not a Mr. Coffee, no way, not in my studio.  I want an eye pleasing yet fully featured coffee machine that will be able to churn out pot after pot of hot, fresh coffee on a daily basis.  Of all the equipment that I may end up needing, this coffee machine is number one on the list.  You must get your priorities straight right from the beginning.

Black Mesa Coffee

I have not settled on a particular brand or style just yet but I am certain that I will be pleased with the final choice.

Additionally, I will need a mini-fridge to hold and keep chilled a selection of energy drinks to supplement the above referenced hot coffee.  Caffeine is the number one item to keep on hand at all times.  Given the choice between going one day without food or one day without caffeine and I will always choose to give up the food.  Man, oh man, this is really happening.

Bicycles and Cycling

Images of bicycles and cycling in general.

At one point I had set up a formal portfolio and then during some routine cleanup I decided do delete everything and then start over except that I forgot the part about setting up a new portfolio. Now begins the long process of reviewing my digital photographs and sorting them into galleries so that when someone asks for the link to my portfolio I won’t be left standing there with my mouth open and a blank stare in my eyes.

I have began with my collection of cycling themed photographs, most of them taken with the camera on my cell phone. The resolution and quality is not the best but I wanted to display images that were dear to my heart, and as you know, I am a cycling fiend.

Albuquerque

Welcome to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The second gallery will hold my collection of images that were taken when I lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is a work in progress and currently contains images from the campus of the University of New Mexico but will be expanded to feature shots taken all over the city of Albuquerque.
