A Personal Review

Oh joy, a new toy.  I finally qualified for an upgrade with T-Mobile and it is was a toss up between the newest BlackBerry or going with an Android phone.  After much research and deliberation I decided upon the fabulous myTouch 3G with the 3.5mm jack.

I can tell you that I have always enjoyed the BlackBerry’s because they have a real QWERTY keyboard and I have resisted moving to any smartphone with an Onscreen Keyboard because I have fat fingers.  And to get it out of the way this is my only gripe about the myTouch 3G.  I am having to relearn how to type on the OSK but after two days of practice I am getting much better.

Early on in my research I was getting a bit discouraged about switching to the Android OS because I had heard quite a bit of chatter regarding the fact that Android phones were a bit sluggish but so far I have not experienced any issues with the myTouch 3G, in fact it has been quite snappy and it has not crashed or locked up on me like my old BlackBerry Curve.  The Android Market has a plethora of free apps to keep me occupied but to date all I am running is Facebook, Seismic and FxCamera.  Oh and the WordPress app, of course.  Additionally, I am quite taken with the GPS integration with Google Maps and Google Sky Map.  Another plus has been the fact that the myTouch 3G seems to offer me better reception in the Portland metro area than did my Blackberry.

I’m not going to get all techie and geeky with this personal review of the myTouch 3G because I think the design and features speak for themselves and the layout is pretty intuitive so most users will be able to figure things out themselves.  Overall, after two days of using it I am super pleased with the myTouch 3G!

Neck

There it was, a defining moment in life when an individual looks within themselves and realizes, this is not it.  Maybe you understand and maybe you don’t.  This would not be the first time in my life that I was sitting at the crossroads, but unlike the great Robert Johnson, I have no intentions of making a deal with the Devil.  Let us just say that I am once again looking forward to the next phase of my adventure called life.
