I was as shocked as anyone when I read my own headline and then reminded myself that I only put (Breaking News) in today’s post title because I was too lazy to come up with something more unique. But I do have a bit of news to relate to you. Several days ago the front tire on my bike went flat. No big deal, it was an easy patch job and everything appeared to be fixed but the next day that same tire was flat again. So I pulled the tube out one more time and gave it the old once over. I couldn’t find another hole and the original patch seemed to be holding so I convinced myself that maybe I just forgot to air the tire up properly. So I remounted everything and this time I double checked to make sure that I aired it back up to 100 psi and that appeared to be that.
This morning I woke up bright and early and the tire was still properly inflated so I rode to work as usual and then when I got ready to ride home, you guessed it, that fucking tire was going flat again. So now I am about to yank the tube out yet again, and just like before I am going to thoroughly inspect the tire to try and locate the source of the leak. When I am done it is my sincere hope that tomorrow the tire will remain inflated throughout the day and I will be able to ride both to and from work without having to deal with it again. If not, I might just flip out and do something stupid. Who knows, but at this point I am losing all patience with that front tire.

And there it is, the mystery tire on the front wheel of my 2008 Lemond Fillmore. I swear this oath, I will find out the cause of the leak and stop it once and for all!
