This is a screen print of the historic El Rey Theater in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Done with gold ink on black Strathmore paper. The El Rey Theater was built in 1941 by architect Joseph B. Burwinkle. During its early years the El Rey Theater was a popular movie theater, and also featured “The Hangar” restaurant, as well as several popular bars. This became known as the new “Puccini Building”. Encompassing both the Theater and Saloon, it is a registered Historic Building, and the only example of Mediterranean architecture in a large theater in the State of New Mexico.

Day 36: (Setting Up Galleries)
The Flash Player and a browser with Javascript support are needed.
At one point I had set up a formal portfolio and then during some routine cleanup I decided do delete everything and then start over except that I forgot the part about setting up a new portfolio. Now begins the long process of reviewing my digital photographs and sorting them into galleries so that when someone asks for the link to my portfolio I won’t be left standing there with my mouth open and a blank stare in my eyes.
I have began with my collection of cycling themed photographs, most of them taken with the camera on my cell phone. The resolution and quality is not the best but I wanted to display images that were dear to my heart, and as you know, I am a cycling fiend.

The second gallery will hold my collection of images that were taken when I lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is a work in progress and currently contains images from the campus of the University of New Mexico but will be expanded to feature shots taken all over the city of Albuquerque.
