July 29, 2010 by Mister ViddyAs an Android user I know that this is something I am waiting for impatiently, Netflix on an Android phone. Rumor has it that there was even a job listing on the Netflix site for an “Android Video Playback Expert” under Partner Product Development. I have not verified this myself but it seems to make sense that Netflix would want to jump on board the Android bandwagon. Until then I keep my eyes peeled for any news regarding this topic.

A Day At The Android Market
July 29, 2010 byI should be packing when you consider we leave for Minneapolis in two days but instead I am browsing the Android Market for last minute apps that I need and have procrastinated in downloading. I finally installed ToggleWifi and Tricorder with the former being something I will actually use on a regular basis and the latter is just for fun. I hear rumors that Hulu and Netflix will soon be coming to Android phones but it would be nice if they were already available.
So, there you have it. My exciting day in the Android Market.

Special Report: Netflix On Android
November 14, 2010 by Mister ViddySo, I’ve been waiting. And waiting. And yes, waiting for Netflix to become available on the Android platform but as you may have already guessed it is still not going to be available until sometime next year. The reason? Security. According to Netflix the studios are the ones who are holding up the release of Netflix for Android due to DRM concerns. iPhone and Windows 7 already offer this service because they are closed systems and thus more secure? Android is an open platform and this makes it a risk for the studios? Politics man, just politics. It would be nice to see Netflix roll out onto the Android market but for now I’ll continue to wait. And wait.
