Something About Bike Wheels

It’s currently -2 outside but all I can think about is getting a new wheelset for my bike.  The bike itself is an old Nishiki Olympic that I converted to single speed but the current wheels do not have a machined breaking surface on the side and that can be treacherous when the weather is freezing.  So for the moment I am taking a break from The Mask Project and focusing on cycling.  Which makes even me wonder about things like sanity.  This morning I had to warm up the car and scrape ice from the windshield and just that little exposure to the cold had my fingers burning.  Yes, I was wearing gloves but still, it was dang cold.

Anyhoo, I suppose that once the temperature hits the single digits in the positive I will hit the bike shops and see what I can find in the way of single speed wheelsets.  Craigslist has been a bust so far.

Day 111: Strike A Post – Lemond Fillmore

Lemond Fillmore At Hawthorn Farm MAX 01

My Lemond Fillmore.  The following images were taken at the Hawthorn Farm MAX platform on a rainy day in April.  This day in April as a matter of fact.  I have the Lemond for just over a year now and it continues to be a joy to ride.  I really love singlespeed bicycles.  The clean lines and simplicity make riding single speed a real joy.

Oh yeah.  Talk about hybrid energy, I mix it up between MAX and my Lemond singlespeed.  Take a break from your gas powered vehicle and give bicycles a try.

Day 105: Weekend Wrapped

Over The Tracks

The weekend wrapped before it even began.  So I’m serving up this Polaroid of me on my bike at the Elmonica MAX platform.  Cheers!
