You’ve got to be kidding me. Paul Allen, one of the wealthiest men in the world who co-founded Microsoft, a company that was not shy about stealing ideas from other companies is suing the internet. Google, Apple, Yahoo, Netflix, Facebook, AOL and eBay, among others are named in the suit and this pretty much represents the internet.
Apparently he ran an “idea lab” called Interval Research which is no longer in business but why let that prevent a billionaire from raking in additional money, let’s sue.
Pathetic. That is all I can say about this man and this lawsuit. Is it possible there is some merit to the claims made by Paul Allen? Perhaps, but I see this as a strong arm tactic meant to garner some free press for Mr. Allen and to make the companies named in the lawsuit squirm a little.
I don’t know what to say. I hate to sound like I am bagging on Microsoft but seriously, Paul Allen and Bill Gates had no problem creating that behemoth by using some “clever” business practices if you know what I mean. And it is my personal opinion that the internet and technology in general have advanced due to the fact that all the companies involved with it beg, borrow and steal from each other. I am not saying this is right but it is the way it is.
