Documenting The Mask Project just became so much easier due to my recent acquisition of a Nikon D3100 which was an early birthday gift. I haven’t really put it through its paces yet but I love it nonetheless.

Sometimes you gotta make a tough choice and tonight I had to decide whether to ride home in the rain and deal with wet pants or don my rain pants and ride home all sweaty. It was 51 degrees when I left the office and I knew that by the time I made it home I was going to be getting warm. So I chose to ride home in wet pants because it seemed less gross than getting my legs all sweaty.

Day 104: Technology Wrapped In Art (Nikon F4s)

This was one of the most beautifully designed cameras ever made. The Nikon F4s was the second professional F body to offer autofocusing and the Nikon F4 was the first pro F-model that started to adopt a vertical traveled shutter curtain, resulting in delivering top shutter speed of 1/8000 sec with a 1/250sec top sync speed – fastest among all Pro F-models.
Released in 1988, it came with a host of features including the following:
- Nikon’s top-of-the-line AF SLR with interchangeable viewfinder and built-in motor drive
- Three metering system (Matrix, Center-Weighted and Spot) available
- Max. shutter speed 1/8,000 s and 1/250 flash sync
- High performance AF system incorporated
Designed for the professional shooter, it is as rugged as it is gorgeous and even 20 years later you can find them working as perfectly as the day they first rolled out.
